Autotalks today announced the release of its vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) Communication RF Transceiver. ATK3100 RFIC, dubbed "PLUTON", is a state-of-the-art RF transceiver designed for optimal operation in vehicular environment. Together with CRATON V2X communication processor, Autotalks presents a complete offering ready for series-production in car models from 2015 on.
"PLUTON introduction ensures that vehicle manufacturers can meet their tight schedule for deploying connected vehicles internationally and the detailed requirements" said Nir Sasson, CEO of Autotalks. "Using Autotalks automotive-grade chipset, the entire value-chain is able to move towards productization phases".
PLUTON V2X RF Transceiver is a highly optimized RFIC, satisfies the strictest requirements of vehicle-to-vehicle communication. It was carefully designed to leverage CRATON V2X communication processor advanced signal processing algorithms and to achieve optimized system-level performance.
PLUTON offers dual channel full 5GHz band transceiver, with 700MHz band support for worldwide operation, following IEEE802.11p, ETSI ITS profile, Japan ARIB STD-T109 specifications and offering IEEE802.11a support. It is manufactured by Altis Semiconductors and is scheduled to obtain AEC-Q100 qualification.
PLUTON provides high sensitivity reception and dual channel operations, with ability to work on antenna diversity mode or two separate channels. It offers industry leading enhanced adjacent channel rejection, broad temperature range operation and flexible antenna configuration support. PLUTON architecture is based on direct conversion for both the transmitter and receiver, which eliminates expensive and external filters. Its unique calibration-less architecture allows uninterruptable operation in harsh vehicular environments.
Autotalks joined the leading vehicle manufactures organized in the CAR 2 CAR Communication Consortium in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a common strategy for the deployment of cooperative ITS (C-ITS) in Europe. Within the CAR 2 CAR Communication Consortium, the automotive industry identifies, develops and with active work in standardization and profiling of standards supports the functionality of a minimum set of services at the time of market introduction. These Day One applications serve as a key reference in designing Autotalks’ chipset SDK as well as deducting system overall performance.
“We consider Autotalks Automotive Grade V2X chipset availability to be an indication to the major progress the industry has made” says Søren Hess, General Manager of the CAR 2 CAR Communication Consortium. “Vehicle manufactures and Tier 1s are now able to design series-production modules and apply the relevant applications.”
PLUTON is already included in series-development and pre-development modules of several OEMs and Tier 1s. Autotalks provides schematics and PCB layout for quick design ramp.
